For Jérôme Bugara, furniture is a way of paying tribute to the artisans who make it. His studio has built a reputation for collections that place noble materials and meticulous craftsmanship above trend, every piece engineered with an engineer’s precision and dressed with a couturier’s patience, so that the technical structure underneath a sofa or chair disappears entirely into the softness of its final silhouette.
Baïne borrows its name from the pockets of still water that form along the Atlantic coast beloved by Bugara’s collaborator Maygane, water that looks calm on the surface while hiding a powerful undertow beneath. The sofa, upholstered here in ivory Karakorum from Dedar or navy Vitus velvet from Fischbacher 1819, translates that duality into a deep, enveloping seat wrapped in a pure, almost timeless silhouette. Every curve is drawn to feel serene at first glance and only reveal its quiet strength once you actually sink into it, much like the tidal pools that inspired it.
A graduate from the prestigious École Boulle, interior architect and designer Jérôme Bugara loves French savoir-faire above all else. A native of Lyon, he moved to Paris at a young age, fully immersing himself in the architectural richness of the City of Light to nurture and develop his art. He founded his own interior design agency in 2015, where he creates striking interiors for private clients while designing unique furniture collections in limited editions.
