Jérôme Bugara draws his vocabulary of design from Paris’s architectural richness, a fascination that has shaped his agency’s furniture ever since. He is known above all for his devotion to French savoir-faire: he seeks out artisans who still carve, cane and hand-finish exactly as their predecessors did, treating every join, seam and curve as a chance to showcase that inherited skill rather than hide it.
Named after the Queen song, the Bohemian Sofa is Bugara’s tribute to unbridled creativity, offered in ivory Karakorum fabric from Dedar or praline Vitus velvet from Fischbacher 1819. Its bold, full-bodied curves can be assembled as a single continuous form or split into two separate pieces, letting the same silhouette rearrange itself as a room’s needs change. Produced as a signed limited edition of fifty, the sofa’s rounded profile is designed to capture light and movement the way a piece of music holds a melody, so that no two viewing angles feel quite the same.
