Her work moves fluidly between architecture, ceramics and furniture, merging artisanal techniques — hand-gouged porcelain, mixed materials, sculptural woodworking — with a contemporary architect’s eye for volume and light. Every piece she designs carries the same instinct: to treat an object as a small building, considered from every angle.
The Line Sofa carries forward the material language of Sophie Dries’s Croissant collection, pairing a sculptural, architecturally structured silhouette with soft, generous volumes built for comfort. Its base is crafted in brown oak burl in a rich “hot chocolate” tone, the burr wood mass-dyed so that its natural, swirling grain reads as color rather than mere texture.
Upholstered here in Marci mohair velvet from Yarn Collective in a deep masala shade, the sofa is made bespoke to size, allowing each client to adapt its proportions to their own room. The contrast between the sofa’s structured frame and its enveloping cushions is deliberate: Dries, trained as an architect, designs furniture the way she designs space, balancing rigor with an invitation to sink in and stay.
