Borghese Sofa is a sculptural piece directly inspired and named after the pine trees of the Villa Borghese gardens in Roma. The characteristic network of branches is translated as a graphic steel framework supporting a trio of cushions. The designer’s preference for organic shapes readily translates as a standout modernist statement piece. The structure is black grained and upholstered with an amazing bouclé fabric from Pierre Frey. The laser-cut metal structure is assembled and welded by hand to replicate the network of branches of a tree, creating a soft landscape.
