Bichette is a floor lamp made to lean, inspired by the push net used for shrimp fishing. It reminds us of the net placed against the wall after returning home from a walk on the beach or a fishing trip… Une madeleine de Proust.
The name “Bichette”, synonymous with the landing net, is a tribute to the strength of sailors’ wives who practiced this activity to supplement the family income. This hybrid luminaire combines aesthetics and meaning, creating graphic and textured shadow effects thanks to its monochrome expanded metal structure. Bichette revisits a traditional functional object for a new purpose: utilitarian and a bearer of memory, while at the same time shaking up the codes of classic lighting fixtures by being at once a floor lamp, a hand lamp and a wall lamp.
