Reda Amalou is a French-Algerian architect known for shaping hotels and interiors across Asia and Europe before launching Reda Amalou Design to give his material instincts a smaller, more intimate scale.

The Kimani Lounge Chair, part of Reda Amalou’s RAD Gallery Collection, is produced in a strictly limited edition of eight pieces plus four artist’s proofs, each one numbered and signed — a rarity that mirrors the bespoke, one-off nature of the architectural commissions Amalou has led since founding AW² in 1997.

Wrapped in leather finished with a hand-worked saddle stitch and set on a bronze structure, the chair pairs equestrian-inspired craft with architectural solidity; the included leather cushion softens the frame’s clean geometry, giving the piece the rare combination of sculptural presence and genuine, everyday comfort.

Born in Paris, he studied in London at East London University and worked for twenty years on numerous hotel projects in Asia, Europe and the Middle East with a strong ecological tropism. His combination of minimalism, elegance and sobriety expressed in curves and noble materials, deep lacquer, bronze, leather, gives a strong sense of luxury to his collection.
