The Daiku Stool is designed by Victoria Magniant, who works hand in hand with French ateliers to translate noble materials, wood, glass, brass, into pieces that read as much like sculpture as furniture. She draws on the pared-back forms of Isamu Noguchi and Barbara Hepworth, choosing slowness and craft over speed.

Turned here in walnut, and available as well in tinted ash or oak, the Daiku Stool follows the same calligraphic logic as the rest of the collection, its stain applied in translucent layers so the wood’s own grain remains legible beneath the colour. Solid wood construction means every stool will expand, contract and even show fine surface cracks over time, changes the studio considers proof of the material’s honesty.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
