As in all his previous creations, architect/designer Reda Amalou has combined pure elegance with understated luxury. With the “Ice” wall lamp, he added an element of precious fragility, as if the glass were hanging by a thread. Set on a simple chrome and bronze frame, reminiscent of modernist aesthetics, the Murano glass rectangular “icicles” float freely diffusing an unexpected ever-changing light. Each sheet of glass is hand-laid and then hand-pressed, thus bearing a specific unique pattern each one different from the other. Made in France by Veronese – known for their unsurpassed mix of Murano traditions with French Design – the Ice wall lamp is a truly bespoke piece.
Born in Paris, he studied in London at East London University and worked for twenty years on numerous hotel projects in Asia, Europe and the Middle East with a strong ecological tropism. His combination of minimalism, elegance and sobriety expressed in curves and noble materials, deep lacquer, bronze, leather, gives a strong sense of luxury to his collection.
