The Takosu Wall Lamp Mezzo is designed by Victoria Magniant, who works hand in hand with French ateliers to translate noble materials, wood, glass, brass, into pieces that read as much like sculpture as furniture. She draws on the pared-back forms of Isamu Noguchi and Barbara Hepworth, choosing slowness and craft over speed.
Shown here in a brushed anthracite brass, with brushed bronze, blue marble, cloud white and antique pink also available, the Takosu sconce is bent by hand in French ironwork workshops before being fitted with a tube of borosilicate glass, mouth-blown by a French glassblower and then sandblasted so the light spreads evenly rather than glaring from a single point.
Victoria Magniant, is a multidisciplinary designer based in Paris. Her approach is marked by a refined and poetic aesthetic, which reveals the intrinsic beauty of the material. Inspired by Brancusi, Noguchi and Sanaa, she nurtures a subtle dialogue between cultures and eras. Her work is introspective, functional, and deeply sculptural.
