The Couture Touch

Stories Editor's Pick The Couture Touch

The specialty creators from Chanel's 19M are the guest stars of a memorable exhibition curated by Invisible Collection.

Making Memories, the original exhibition curated by Invisible Collection marks the start of Paris Design Week. Set in the magical salons of Féau Boiseries, it features a beautiful display of contemporary furniture specially handpicked for the event.
Highlights from the exhibition include a selection of bespoke creations from Les Maisons d’Art pour la Mode et la Décoration, the specialty creators housed at le 19M, Chanel’s creative hub of savoir-faire in Paris. From delicate embroideries by Lesage, elevating room dividers to new forms of art, to hand embroidered architectural elements by MTX, gilded objects by Goossens and the illustration of Lemarié‘s multiple refined savoir-faire, the unparalleled crafts of couture are making a grand entrance into interior decoration.
The strong bond that unites Invisible Collection and these Metiers d’art stems from a shared understanding of exceptional savoir-faire as a means of cultural engagement.
By working hand in hand with these specialty creators, we introduce keen collectors from across the globe to heritage crafts that are as rare as they are unique. Each of the Maisons d’art de la mode et de la décoration has a distinct specialty and identity, ranging from goldsmithing and feather work to pleating, furniture embroidery, and architectural embroidery.

Through this exceptional collaboration, guests can access unparalleled expertise and cutting-edge innovation for a variety of custom, bespoke projects.
These specialty creators need little introduction. Goossens began collaborating with Gabrielle Chanel in the 1950s, creating spectacular pieces for her home. Lesage Intérieurs has been designing, inventing, and handcrafting embroidery for furniture and decoration for over thirty years.
MTX, founded in 2013 by Atelier Montex, started with architectural embroidery and developed a unique combination of techniques drawing on different fields of the applied arts. As for Lemarié, whose savoir-faire has historically been focused on Haute Couture, they have now expanded to include decorative embellishments and the creation of sculptural decors.
First introduced in Invisible Collection’s New York gallery on the Upper East Side, the bespoke creations from each house are a testament to the French aesthetic that has become the signature of Invisible Collection.
