We are thrilled to unveil the debut collection by Laclaux, available exclusively on our platform. The unveiling took place at Invisible Collection London during Frieze and PAD week, inviting collectors and design enthusiasts to explore a curated display of brand-new designs that embody the sophisticated world of Laclaux. The exhibition will be on view throughout the fall season, and we hope you’ll have the opportunity to visit and experience it in person. Though Laclaux is a new furniture brand, its story has been in the making for quite some time, given the founders’ extensive backgrounds. Chloé Nègre is a well-known name in the world of interior design. After formative years working alongside India Mahdavi and extensive travels throughout China, she founded her eponymous studio, delivering internationally acclaimed projects. From the outset, she has integrated an eco-design approach into her projects, aiming for truly sustainable practices in all aspects of the design and manufacturing process. Sharing these values and vision with François-Xavier Fonbonnat led the two designers to launch a new furniture brand: Laclaux.
Soulful and Sustainable. The collaborative partnership between Chloé Nègre and François-Xavier Fonbonnat brings to life a concept of furniture that is alluring, responsible, and sustainable. Their designs are mindful of the environment in which they are created and, ultimately, shape the spaces they inhabit, influencing how people interact within them. Warm, bold, and infused with a joyful spirit, Laclaux creations are meant for interiors where time flows gently—vibrant homes where aesthetics and functionality are one. Crafted with a focus on storytelling and sustainability, Laclaux designs bear both cultural and ecological significance, embodying a sense of history and purpose. From the sourcing of ecological materials to the use of low-impact artisanal techniques, each piece is made with care and responsibility. The “Louisa” table, for instance, with its top defined by a sumptuous marble stucco finish, stands as an artisanal masterpiece rich with emotion and tradition. Its structure and legs, made from sanded cedar stained with a honey finish, highlight the wood’s grain and texture, harmonizing beautifully with the tabletop’s undulating motif that evokes the dreamlike reflections of a midnight swim. The striking Alba Chandelier draws its inspiration from an imaginary enchanted garden filled with timeless, wild beauty. Made in the Naples region and featuring 88 hand-painted, glazed ceramic pomegranates illuminated by 17 amber glass flower corollas, it embodies the excellence of forgotten crafts.
Most of the seating from Laclaux features removable slipcovers—a first for Invisible Collection, introducing a new type of furniture that allows for seasonal updates and versatility. One can imagine following the changing seasons and indulging in soft alpaca for winter and crisp linen for summer, both sourced from Dedar’s exquisite fabric collections. With a nod to details from another era, the After Club Sofa is dressed in a slipcover featuring large side pockets for books and magazines. Handcrafted in the Vosges region, this sofa epitomizes the Laclaux idea of comfort: a soft, plush embrace followed by firm, enduring support. Defined by a strong geometric shape, the Baba Armchair is also dressed from head to toe in textured, removable fabric. And then there’s the Baci Chair, a favorite of ours. Defined by skillfully crafted sculptural forms, its structure in delicately brushed and stained ash wood accentuates the design’s flowing lines. Upholstered in linen, the two-tone backrest offers a subtle and harmonious contrast. Beautiful and Meaningful. Crafted with a focus on storytelling and sustainability, Laclaux designs bear both cultural and ecological significance, embodying a sense of history and purpose. From the sourcing of ecological materials to the use of low-impact artisanal techniques, each piece is made with care and responsibility.
Available exclusively at Invisible Collection, Laclaux invites us to rethink the meaning of beautiful design through the prism of environmental consciousness.
