Each design is hand-knotted by artisans in Nepal using traditional Persian, Tibetan and flat-knot techniques that Zelmanovitch has spent more than four decades helping to revive and sustain. Across over thirty collections, Diurne rugs carry the same conviction: that a floor covering can hold as much abstraction, movement and colour vibration as a painting on a wall.

The Aminima 09 Rug designed by Diurne belongs to the same minimal-line family as Aminima 23, but Marcel Zelmanovitch shifts its proportions and colour balance enough that the two feel like siblings rather than duplicates. Since opening Galerie Diurne in 1982, he has used numbered variations like these to keep exploring a single idea without ever repeating it exactly.

Hand-knotted in Nepal from 80% wool and 20% silk with 200,000 Tibetan knots, the Aminima 09 Rug lets its pared-back composition rely almost entirely on the tactile quality of the knotting itself, wool and silk catching light differently across the same surface. Bespoke dimensions and colours are available upon request.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
