Olivier Garcé and Clio Dimofski opened Garcé & Dimofski’s studio and gallery in a 19th-century Pombaline building in Lisbon. They bring a rigorous, architectural eye to furniture that never strays far from the earth it comes from — chestnut, walnut, pine and clay, shaped by hand with Portuguese craftsmen who have spent lifetimes mastering their materials.
Lola Natural is hand-carved from raw Douglas fir left in its natural state rather than lacquered, and shown here upholstered in white Noos wool from Zak & Fox, though a chalky Craie bouclé from Lelièvre offers a softer alternative. The bare wood grain stays visible along the frame, so the chair reads as much like a piece of carved sculpture as it does seating.
