Laclaux is the Paris studio of Chloé Nègre and François-Xavier Fonbonnat, built on a single conviction: that ecological, artisanal design can be as refined as it is honest. Every piece leaves their workshop having passed through the hands of French cabinetmakers and weavers who favour raw, living materials over anything synthetic or overworked.
The Primavera Table Bronze Gold designed by Laclaux takes the airy, openwork silhouette of the studio’s Primavera family and recasts it entirely in patinated solid bronze, trading the warmth of woven rattan for the weight and permanence of cast metal. Chloé Nègre and François-Xavier Fonbonnat use the same spring-like form to prove that their design language survives a total change of material.
The bronze is hand-patinated rather than plated, so its surface carries subtle variations of tone that develop further with age and handling, much like a piece of jewellery worn over years. The same silhouette is also available in the studio’s signature natural rattan, and bespoke dimensions and finishes can be requested for either version.
Laclaux embodies the vision, skills, and sensitivity of Chloé Nègre and François-Xavier Fonbonnat. Both alumni of the École Camondo, they built their careers on separate paths: François-Xavier working at some of France’s leading design agencies, while Chloé founded her eponymous studio. By merging their longstanding experience and sharing a deep passion for craftsmanship and responsible design, they create new collections of furniture pieces inspired by their distinctive perspectives, where creativity and environmental consciousness are the cornerstones. The collection opens its doors to the transmission of knowledge, craftsmanship, ecology, sharing, and transparency, with a mission to bring excellence to furniture making.
