Designed during a collaboration with Japanese artisans, the Senshi rug by Elsa Pochat draws inspiration from the deep nuances of indigo and the art of Boro. It depicts the abandoned kimono of a warrior—Senshi in Japanese—capturing both absence and presence. Versatile in use, the piece may be displayed on the floor or hung on the wall.
Woven in wool and dyed with natural indigo pigments, the rug is crafted in France by the Pinton manufactory, heir to a centuries-old savoir-faire rooted in the pure tradition of Aubusson tapestry and carpet making. The rug was exhibited in 2023 at Milan Design Week, followed by presentations in Paris and Berlin. In 2025, it entered the collections of the Mobilier National.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
