Inspired by the crocodile god, the Sobek Sofa by OUD deploys an evocative silhouette crossed by a golden gleam recalling the sacred Nile. The gouged wood traces subtle reliefs, a memory of scales.

This piece is part of an original collection specially created for the exhibition Le Salon des Nouveaux Ensembliers, curated by Mobilier national to celebrate the centenary of Art Deco by reimagining the décor of a French embassy today. OUD envisioned the office of an ambassador in Egypt, on the shores of the Nile, drawing from the imaginary and symbolism of millennia-old Egyptian culture and aesthetics.
