An imaginary vestige of a vanished civilization, the Crocodilopolis bench from Oud Architecture and Guillaume Campredon bears the imprint of time. Carved from Saint-Maximin stone, it stands as a witness to a consecrated cult, where every detail tells a story of ancient rites and memories etched in stone.Â
This piece is part of an original collection specially created for the exhibition Le Salon des Nouveaux Ensembliers, curated by Mobilier national to celebrate the centenary of Art Deco by reimagining the décor of a French embassy today. OUD envisioned the office of an ambassador in Egypt, on the shores of the Nile, drawing from the imaginary and symbolism of millennia-old Egyptian culture and aesthetics.
