The Light Pendant Nout by OUD conjures stories from ancient Egypt, where the solar globe encircled by a serpent is a symbol of protection and regeneration. It ensures that the star will be reborn every morning after its passage through darkness.

This piece is part of an original collection specially created for the exhibition Le Salon des Nouveaux Ensembliers, curated by Mobilier national to celebrate the centenary of Art Deco by reimagining the décor of a French embassy today. OUD envisioned the office of an ambassador in Egypt, on the shores of the Nile, drawing from the imaginary and symbolism of millennia-old Egyptian culture and aesthetics.
