The Dinner Service table set in sterling silver was created from sketches and plans by American artist Donald Judd. In 1989, he sketches a series of cylindrical shapes interlaced with perpendicular planes to compose plates, bowls and other flat dishes. But the steel prototypes made at that time did not achieve the desired precision. A few decades later, Puiforcat’s craftsmen, using the traditional techniques of silversmithing practiced in the house workshop, have reached the degree of precision considered to be the standard of Donald Judd’s work. Under the artistic direction of the artist’s son, Puiforcat’s craftmen created this collection consisting of eight complementary pieces – dinner, bread, bread, salad, dessert, as well as a round dish, large bread plate and cup. Each creation is numbered and stamped with the Puiforcat master punch.
