In the rolling countryside of Burgundy, the Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne has spent over six decades perfecting the art of the handmade rug, from ancestral hand-knotting to the hand-tufting technique it pioneered in the 1970s. Labelled a Living Heritage Company for its craftsmanship, the manufacture translates the visions of contemporary designers into wool, silk and natural fibre, each carpet carried through the hands of artisans who count every knot and tuft by feel.
Reflets — reflections — sees Studioparisien move away from the topiary language of À La Française toward a softer, more atmospheric surface, hand-tufted for the Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne in a blend of mohair, jute, wool and bamboo. In its clay-toned argile colourway, the mix of fibres catches light unevenly the way water does, so that Laurène B. Tardrew and Romain Jourdan’s design — best known for scenography at Cartier and Hermès — reads less as a fixed pattern than as a shifting, luminous surface underfoot.
