Chanel’s Maisons d’art and Invisible Collection together in a new exhibition celebrating artistry and design. The exclusive pieces are on show at Féau Boiseries, a magical place in the heart of Paris, exceptionally open to Invisible Collection’s guests.

We are delighted to unveil “Couture Architecture”, our first Paris exhibition in collaboration with Chanel’s Maisons d’art from le19M.  Set against the magical backdrop of Féau Boiseries, the bespoke creations from Lesage Intérieurs, GOOSSENS, Studio MTX and Maison Lemarié are paired with Invisible Collection’s iconic designs. Supporting and promoting unique savoir-faire is at the heart of our collaboration with the Maisons d’art from le19M. Since the opening of our flagship store in NYC, we have welcomed the four maisons dedicated to interior design, introducing their unrivalled expertise to eager clients. This first Parisian exhibition further strengthens our bond with these specialty creators, who best represent French chic and the decorative arts’ heritage. The scenography, conceived by award winning Studio Biehler-Graveleine, sets the tone for a journey of wonders.

Visitors wander through Féau’s maze-like setting of seventeen magical rooms where they discover the works by Chanel’s Maison d’art: embroidered mirrors from Studio MTX, a majestic Goossens chandelier, Lesage Intérieurs’ embroidered armchairs and ottomans, Maison Lemarié’s stunning cushions adorned with marquetry of feathers… These unique creations are all the more enticing when set in a harmonious dialogue with our iconic designs conjuring a distinctive aesthetic of subtle luxe and timeless elegance. Highlights from the exhibition include Lesage Intérieurs’ first semi-bespoke collection designed by the founders of Studio Biehler-Graveleine and available exclusively through us. Finding inspiration from Lesage’s rich archives the designers reinterpreted the chapiteau, a 1920s motif inspired by Harlequin and its colourful costume. An armchair and an ottoman upholstered by Ateliers Jouffre feature fringes and lozenges in woolen sheets combined with fabric sheets embroidered in silver thread.

Gilded brass pieces by Goossens dot the vast space. Coco Chanel’s beloved brand will unveil new designs alongside some signature pieces such as the striking Brutalist lantern, adorned with raw slabs of rock crystal, the Blé lamp, the Stones mirror and the spectacular Madison ceiling lamp. Maison Lemarié’s historic expertise in featherwork is embodied by a selection of woolen cushions adorned with a marquetry of feathers forming a floral lace pattern in powdery tones. Made entirely from feathers, these surprisingly realistic and light decorative objects reflect the virtuosity and exceptional inventiveness of the house artisans who for decades have worked with some of the biggest names in haute couture. Last but not least, visitors can admire two grand mirrors created by Studio MTX

The painstaking process behind the making is a tour de force of skill: the surface is first transpierced, then the holes are beveled and finally embroidered with cotton cords and metal tubes. The result is mesmerizing. In this grand setting that celebrates the best of French savoir-faire we incorporated iconic furniture pieces from our French star designers. Each room has its own star, from the unmistakable Alexandra Sofa by Charles Zana, the Niko Lounge chair by Thierry Lemaire, the lovely Chess Daybed by Charles Tassin and the whimsical Maxou accent chair by Hubert le Gall to the striking Refine Desk by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance. Dotting the space are lovely side tables including the exquisite Beausoleil by Glenn Sestig x Lison de Caunes. We can’t stress enough how fabulous the exhibition looks; if you are in Paris don’t miss it! Book a visit, Invisible Collection’s team will be delighted to show you around.
