Decorative and functional, the Leaves designed by Studio MTX are a new take on the classic blinds and interior separative screens. With the Studio’s renowned sense of composition and materials, these propositions are blurring the lines. They combine the fluidity of the fabric with the rigidity of the metal and blend the rippling fall of a curtain with the precision of its metallic inclusions. In front of a window or between two spaces, these four models offer a creative solution to maintain natural light while protecting intimacy. Directly printed on the fabric, the colored gradients enliven the surface of these simple panels for delicate or more vibrant compositions depending on the chosen color.
Founded in the late 1930s, Montex Haute Couture embroidery workshop created Studio MTX in 2013 to open up a new field of expression in embroidery: interior design. By moving embroidery from clothing into space, a new savoir-faire emerges, drawing on the vocabulary of traditional embroidery to develop its own language. The thread becomes a cable, riveting borders on couture, the sequin evolves into a thermolacquered aluminium module. The Studio offers decorators and interior designers hitherto unseen materials born from the unique combination of techniques from different fields of the applied arts including embroidery, weaving, tapestry and leatherwork.Â
