The Alpha Centauri disco ball collection takes its name from the planetary system closest to Earth. Designed by Studio MTX under the guidance of its artistic director Mathieu Bassée, its eye-catching look hides a real tour de force as it is a totally empty volume. Its stricking design sits somewhere between George Lucas’ Black Star and Buckminster Fuller’s geodesic domes. Not only does it reflect light when illuminated by spotlights, but it’s intricated see-through surface is a strong decorative artefact, as hypnotic as it is elegant.
