Before shaping the Smoking Clover Pendant, Aline Asmar d’Amman had already reworked some of Paris’s most storied interiors, from the Hôtel de Crillon to Le Jules Verne restaurant inside the Eiffel Tower. Her studio Culture in Architecture approaches every commission as an intricate dialogue between the raw and the precious, and the Smoking Clover Pendant channels that same architectural rigor into a piece for the home.
The Smoking Clover Pendant swaps the collection’s usual satin fabric for a shade carved from white alabaster stone, set beneath a brass satin-finish frame and available in bespoke dimensions on request. Suspended over a table, the alabaster glows from within, softening the tuxedo-black references found elsewhere in the Smoking family.
Aline Asmar d’Amman is the architect and founder of Culture in Architecture. Based in Paris and Beirut, her agency engages in cross-disciplinary work around the world, ranging from interior design to artistic direction and scenography in the fields of luxury hospitality, private residential and various design commissions, with a contemporary approach committed to the transfer of knowledge and to fostering cultural conversations.
