With The Leaves, Studio MTX offers a decorative and functional alternative to traditional blinds and classic partition panels. By creating a dialogue between the softness of textile and the rigour of metal, a new typology emerges , both familiar and unexpected.
Rooted in Studio MTX’s renowned sense of composition and material harmony, The Leaves unfold in a variety of expressions, from understated to intensely chromatic, from minimal to richly embellished.
Placed in front of windows, the different models offer a creative solution to preserve natural light while protecting privacy. Used as space dividers, they provide a light and intuitive way to articulate volumes without segmenting the architecture. Applied to walls, The Leaves become a decorative surface , a landscape to be reimagined as desired.
Founded in the late 1930s, Montex Haute Couture embroidery workshop created Studio MTX in 2013 to open up a new field of expression in embroidery: interior design. By moving embroidery from clothing into space, a new savoir-faire emerges, drawing on the vocabulary of traditional embroidery to develop its own language. The thread becomes a cable, riveting borders on couture, the sequin evolves into a thermolacquered aluminium module. The Studio offers decorators and interior designers hitherto unseen materials born from the unique combination of techniques from different fields of the applied arts including embroidery, weaving, tapestry and leatherwork.Â
