Navis, the Latin version word for ship, is the origin of the word Nave, which is the central part of churches and chapels whose curved gable roofs evoke the submerged part of a ship’s hull. This is the inspiration for both the form and use of the Navis chair by Bosc, originally designed for a chapel in Paris, whose curved backrest also evokes the shape of a ship’s hull.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
