The Invisible Collection brings together rare savoir-faire and singular voices from across the design world, pairing storied ateliers with independent creators who share an obsession for material honesty and craft.
This gold, asymmetrical hand-fan is a Duvelleroy creation, produced with Mayaro Editions, the Paris gallery editing contemporary pieces alongside rare artisan know-how, and it draws its inspiration from Native American headdresses as well as from L’Aigle de Hongrie, a classic shape drawn from Duvelleroy’s own 19th-century archive as official fan-maker to Queen Victoria. Cut in silk with French swan feathers of carefully matched color and diminishing size, it is mounted on a frame of Galalith, the biodegradable “milk stone” material the maison has long championed, the whole demanding a meticulous, hand-sorted selection of plumage found nowhere else.
