Francesco Balzano brings a builder’s discipline to every object he designs. Raised between Venice, Rome and Florence, he channels the drama of Italian classical architecture through a distinctly French sense of restraint, a duality that has earned him a place among AD France’s 100 Best Designers and that now defines the sculptural, limited-edition furniture produced under his own label, SATTIO Studio.
Where the opaque version of the Murano console reads as solid matter, this translucent edition, signed and numbered in colourway FB20/04-E, lets light pass through its resin body the way it filters through sea-worn glass on a Venetian shoreline. Balzano treated the surface to mimic sandblasted glass polished by water, so the console seems to hold a soft, shifting glow drawn straight from the lagoon.
