In the rolling countryside of Burgundy, the Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne has spent over six decades perfecting the art of the handmade rug, from ancestral hand-knotting to the hand-tufting technique it pioneered in the 1970s. Labelled a Living Heritage Company for its craftsmanship, the manufacture translates the visions of contemporary designers into wool, silk and natural fibre, each carpet carried through the hands of artisans who count every knot and tuft by feel.

In its pastel colourway, the Lewitt Rug trades the earthbound terracotta of its sister piece for a gradient of soft pink, but keeps the same layered, hand-tufted construction in 100% wool that gives Garcé Dimofski’s design its relief and softness. True to the duo’s belief in a ‘quiet strength that transcends trends,’ the pastel version proves the Sol LeWitt-inspired structure works as gently in blush tones as in the warmer earth palette, each layer of colour catching light differently.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
