Few names in Paris carry as much gilded history as Goossens, the goldsmithing maison behind the Water Lily Table. Founded in 1950 by Robert Goossens and famously championed by Coco Chanel, the atelier has always worked at the meeting point of jewelry and furniture, treating brass and crystal with the same reverence a jeweler gives to gold.

The Water Lily Table lifts a sheet of transparent glass on a base of gilded brass lily pads, patinated to a soft semi-gloss rather than a hard shine, so the gold reads more like sunlight on water than polished metal. It is one of the rare pieces in the collection built for daily use, a side table that carries the maison’s goldsmith motifs into the architecture of a living room.

Table in yellow brass and transparent glass, 24 carat yellow gold
Patinated semi-glossy finish
