Hugo Drubay’s rocaille mirror collection is a reinterpretation of vermiculated glyphs, the ornamental pattern of fine sinuosities seen on rusticated stone facades. Apart from this architectural reference, it is an artificial representation of living elements such as coral, tree bark or the reflection of ripples on the water. They are framed by ceramic borders made by the artist using traditional or advanced techniques. Designed by computer using parametric or digital sculpting software, they are then 3D printed for the design of plaster moulds for printing in clay. After firing and mounting on a frame, they are protected by a wooden frame covered with unburnt gold leaf. The format can be adapted.
