Drawing inspiration from master cabinetmaker Martin Carlin (1730–1785), the Carlin coffee table offers a contemporary take on his use of Japanese lacquer. The elegance of its overall kidney-shaped form is highlighted by lacquered Japanese paper or lacquered wood applied to both the top and legs, creating a sculptural presence that gently contrasts with the gouged oak feet.
Trained at the ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres School in Paris before moving to London to take a master’s degree at Central Saint Martins, Leo Sentou works on high end residential and hospitality projects honing his skills and sense for detail, whilst growing a strong passion for beautiful finishes. In 2021, Leo launched his first furniture line that encapsulates his love for noble materials and exceptional craftmanship.Â
