The Topino Side Table by Leo Sentou is named for Charles Topino, the eighteenth-century ebeniste celebrated for his marquetry and elegant oval tables de salon, reinterpreted here in a resolutely contemporary key that exposes rather than conceals the table’s inner architecture.
Made from cast brass and patinated bronze with a low iron glass top, the Topino Side Table is entirely handcrafted by skilled artisans with a hammered bronze finish that gives it sculptural presence. The clear glass top is the piece’s most inspiring gesture, revealing the intricate bronze structure beneath as an integral part of the design rather than a hidden mechanism.
Trained at the ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres School in Paris before moving to London to take a master’s degree at Central Saint Martins, Leo Sentou works on high end residential and hospitality projects honing his skills and sense for detail, whilst growing a strong passion for beautiful finishes. In 2021, Leo launched his first furniture line that encapsulates his love for noble materials and exceptional craftmanship.
