Régis Botta is a DPLG architect who runs his own Paris practice.
The Parisienne Concorde Chandelier designed by Régis Botta for Ozone is not just a light fixture suspended from the ceiling. It is part of Les Parisiennes, a collection the Belleville-trained architect conceived after a nocturnal stroll beneath the wrought-iron street lamps of the capital, naming this piece for the Place de la Concorde, the vast square where the obelisk and twin fountains have watched over Paris since the Revolution. Botta translates that grand, luminous plaza into a compact architectural gesture for the home.
Crafted with an aluminium and brass structure finished in pale gold, the chandelier is crowned with a hand-blown glass globe that is only partially sandblasted, so the light escapes in a soft frosted halo on one side while a clear band lets a warm filament glow show through, recalling the way gaslight once spilled across the square’s cobblestones. Because each globe is mouth-blown, the sandblasted pattern is subtly unique from piece to piece.
