Régis Botta is a DPLG architect who runs his own Paris practice.
The Parisienne St Germain Table Lamp designed by Régis Botta for Ozone is not just a bedside light. It belongs to Les Parisiennes, the collection Botta imagined after a nocturnal walk beneath the street lamps of Paris, naming this piece for Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Left Bank quarter of literary cafés where Sartre and de Beauvoir once debated beneath the very streetlights that inspired the collection. The lamp brings that bohemian, book-lined glow to a tabletop.
Built with an aluminium and brass structure in a pale gold finish, the lamp is topped with a hand-blown glass shade, partially sandblasted so the light softens into a frosted glow on part of its surface while a clear band lets the filament peek through, evoking a café window lit late into the night. Since each shade is mouth-blown, its sandblasted texture is never exactly repeated.
