Named for the symmetrical inkblot test, these vessels play on the idea of a form that means something different to every viewer — two mirrored volumes that read as one continuous silhouette from certain angles, then split into separate gestures from others. Antonson builds each by hand, brushing wet plaster onto a wood armature in successive layers, then sculpting, sanding, and rasping the surface until its lumen and shadow feel almost geological rather than applied. That process — trained in classical sculpture and painting — is what gives the plaster its uneven, hand-worked skin rather than a uniform cast finish. Available as a pair or single, and in an illuminated version that turns the vessel into a soft, sculptural light source, the piece suits a console, mantel, or entry table where its irregular profile can be read in the round.
