Ozone

Wonderfully combining magic, technology and architecture, Gounot and Jähnke are inspired by light; they masterfully merge the Parisian tradition of craftsmanship with the latest LED light technologies. The clean lines of their designs conjure timeless geometries – cubes, tubes and circles – that encompass most styles, from classic to edgy. The assemblage details, metal finishes and lighting performance of each design are of the highest level.

Background

First and foremost, Ozone is the story of a friendship. Etienne Gounot and Eric Jähnke were just 25 when they first met in an office where they both worked as industrial engineers. Six years later, they switched to a different life and quit their mapped-out careers to unleash their creativity. This decisive moment led to the creation of Ozone in 2000. The creative studio is now known for lighting design, and collaborates with architects, decorators and corporations.

Some notable reissues – namely the M101 Chandelier by Pierre Paulin- an array of collaborations with major architects, and some striking original lighting fixtures including chandeliers, floor lamps and suspensions. Always on the lookout for the latest technologies, Gounot and Jähnke have created a series of impressive lamps in polymer-coated paper. All light fixtures are manufactured and assembled in Ozone’s workshop located in the heart of Paris.
