The Mojave Rug carries the founding story of Armadillo, the Australian rug house started by Jodie Fried and Sally Pottharst after Fried chose to remain in India following the 2001 Gujarat earthquake to help artisan communities rebuild a sustainable livelihood. Armadillo has grown into one of the first B Corp certified rug brands in the world, built on the belief that beautiful things and ethical production are not a trade-off.
Inspired by ephemeral desert landscapes, the Mojave Rug is built from an Indo-Nepali hand-knotted Tibetan weave in 100% jute, its meticulously handspun pile giving every piece a uniquely variegated, sun-bleached finish. Available in Cashew, Natural or Laurel, its fringed ends and irregular loop pile evoke the shifting light and texture of sand carried by wind.
