Trained as an architect, Federica Tondato discovered her true material almost by accident while filming skilled weavers and embroiderers in Dharamshala, India. Those early drawings became a practice built on a simple conviction that a textile laid flat on the floor can still behave like architecture — one the Ojo Rug carries forward.
Made in pure wool, the Ojo rug takes its name and its concentric, eye-like motif from a pattern language Tondato has returned to across two decades of practice — one built to make a flat plane read as depth. Knotted by artisans in India, its graphic rings turn a floor covering into a quiet architectural anchor for a room, exactly as she intended when she began designing.
