Woven from wool and silk by artisans who master ancestral techniques of knotting, weaving, and tufting, the Echo rugs pursue soft, blended graphics and neutral tones that invite contemplation rather than spectacle. Galerie Diurne, long devoted to exceptional artisanal craft, found in Studio KO a partner whose restraint and precision matched its own commitment to objects built to be lived with for generations.
The Christian Rug, designed by Studio KO for Galerie Diurne within the Echo collection, extends the studio’s meditation on twentieth-century minimalist and conceptual art into a composition of soft, blended graphics that hover somewhere between an aerial landscape and a slow optical pulse. Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty favoured a particularly hushed, neutral palette for this piece, allowing texture and the play of light across the knotted pile to carry the visual interest.
Woven with 80% wool and 20% silk and hand-knotted using 200,000 Tibetan knots, the Christian Rug is the result of artisans mastering ancestral techniques of knotting, weaving, and tufting. Colours are subject to sample approval and may vary with lighting and environment, while bespoke dimensions can be produced upon request for any interior.
