Founded by Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty in Marrakech and Paris, Studio KO has built private houses, museums, and hotels defined by clean lines, natural materials, and an acute sensitivity to light. Their first collaboration with Galerie Diurne, the Echo collection, translates that same architectural discipline into a series of hand-knotted rugs, each one drawing on the great figures of twentieth-century minimalist and conceptual art.
The Andrea Rug, designed by Studio KO for Galerie Diurne as part of the Echo collection, continues the studio’s dialogue with the great figures of twentieth-century minimalist and conceptual art, its surface built from soft, blended graphics that read as both an abstract landscape and a subtle optical vibration. Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty here lean into a particularly fluid gradient of tone, letting one shade dissolve gently into the next across the width of the rug.
Hand-knotted from 80% wool and 20% silk with 200,000 Tibetan knots, the Andrea Rug is produced by artisans skilled in ancestral techniques of knotting, weaving, and tufting. Bespoke dimensions and colours are available upon request, and as with every piece in the collection, natural handmade variations in size and colour are to be expected.
