In Toulouse, Florian Pretet — who once ran Hermès’ hand-woven cashmere and silk workshop — and Lisa Mukhia Pretet, raised between Darjeeling and Kathmandu, hand-knot every rug their atelier produces in Nepal, without machines or chemicals at any stage. Paysage 2, created with François Mascarello, is woven from Himalayan wool, silk and hemp at a density of 155,000 knots per square metre, its soft beige tones reading like a landscape seen from a distance — hence the name.

Made entirely to order in bespoke dimensions, shapes and colours, each rug carries the very slight, very human irregularities of hand-knotting.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
