Édition 1.6.9 is a Paris house devoted entirely to the art of the hand-tufted rug. Every design passes through the same couture-inspired process, with artistic direction by Marie Bastide translating raw fibre into pattern, texture and, ultimately, atmosphere underfoot.

The Hosta Rug turns instead to the garden, its name borrowed from the broad-leafed plant prized for its texture, hand-tufted in jute, wool and Econyl, a regenerated nylon spun from ocean and landfill waste. The blend gives the rug a slightly rustic, layered hand, an organic texture at ease with Édition 1.6.9’s more sculptural, mineral-toned pieces.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
