Each rug is built thread by thread on the tufting frame, a slow, hand-guided process that lets the house move as easily between mineral-toned abstractions and softer, garden-inspired motifs.
Named for galena, the lead-grey mineral prized for its metallic sheen, the Galène Rug is hand-tufted in bamboo silk and semi-worsted wool, pairing the silk’s subtle glimmer with the wool’s grounded texture. The result is a surface that shifts in tone as the light moves across it, much like the mineral that inspired its name.
Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
