The Lilypad Chandelier by Laura Gonzalez is a bold and poetic creation—an audacious sculpture composed of delicately layered glass petals that seem to float in midair. With this piece, Gonzalez transforms a familiar yet evocative motif into something entirely her own, drawing on shared visual memory and natural beauty. The design speaks to us on multiple levels. It instantly calls to mind Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, that iconic series capturing the serene pond in Giverny and its dreamy, floating flora. At the same time, its organic, nature-inspired forms echo the spirit of mid-century Danish design, where elegance and simplicity mirror the natural world. The Lilypad is more than a chandelier – it’s a luminous, collectible artwork that brings together craftsmanship, imagination, and a timeless sense of wonder.
Laura Gonzalez founded her Parisian agency at 24, while still a student at the Ecole nationale supérieure d’architecture Paris-Malaquais. Since then, she’s been making a name for herself in the world of interior design delivering fantastic projects. Putting her motto into practice, “Live each project as a unique experience”, Laura was commissioned the 2021 Women Pavilion in Dubai, and has created some awe-inspiring interiors for luxury brands including Louboutin and Cartier. For the famed jeweler, she redesigned the historic 5th Avenue store in New York, and the “residence”, the private salon at the Paris Flagship in rue de la Paix, elevating the retail experience with her unmistakable style.
