Designed by Virieu di Petrillo for Mayaro
The suspended bookcase can act both as a window and a shutter. Created by a master cabinetmaker and engineer, the wooden bookcase is suspended to a rope with pulleys and steel counterweights which enable a smooth opening and closing, with a simple gesture of the hand. It is meant to either hide or slowly reveal a connexion between two rooms, a dining room and a kitchen for example. It has been imagined by Virieu di Petrillo in collaboration with the Iota Element Atelier.
