In collaboration with La Maison des Femmes, four designers — Constance Guisset, Sophie Dries, Pauline Leprince, and Victoria-Maria Geyer — reinterpret iconic Hurel pieces through distinct, sensitive perspectives, uniting design, craft, and commitment. The collection extends its purpose beyond creation, with each piece contributing to the association’s mission of supporting women in vulnerable situations or survivors of violence.
Constance Guisset chose to reinterpret Philippe Hurel’s Arabel bookcase, making it her own. With Arabel, Philippe Hurel originally conceived a statement piece, an embodiment of his vision of furniture as a form of domestic architecture: structured, elegant, and deeply rooted in the nobility of materials. It was never just about storage. It was about presence. In Guisset’s hands, Arabel becomes something more fluid, almost narrative. The piece unfolds like an interior landscape, where wood and color engage in a quiet dialogue, each element carefully composed in a delicate balance. Shelves become horizons, volumes create rhythm, and the object itself invites both contemplation and use. Function meets poetry, transforming a bookcase into a living composition within the home.
