In collaboration with La Maison des Femmes, four designers — Constance Guisset, Sophie Dries, Pauline Leprince, and Victoria-Maria Geyer — reinterpret iconic Hurel pieces through distinct, sensitive perspectives, uniting design, craft, and commitment. The collection extends its purpose beyond creation, with each piece contributing to the association’s mission of supporting women in vulnerable situations or survivors of violence.
Sophie Dries chose to revisit Philippe Hurel’s Inwood armchair, bringing a fresh perspective to an enduring design. Created more than thirty years ago, the piece remains true to its origins. It carries within it the legacy of Jean-Michel Frank, as well as that unmistakable clarity and restraint that have shaped Philippe Hurel’s collections since the 1980s. In Sophie Dries’ interpretation, the Inwood armchair retains its essential purity while opening itself to subtle evolution. Its lines remain precise, its presence quietly confident, embodying a timeless dialogue between heritage and contemporary sensibility. A study in simplicity, where memory and modernity meet in perfect balance.
