“Pedra is a collection of self-evident objects”– says designer Sam Baron. Starting from discarded blocks “left” in the quarries, the designer transforms the material by cutting and machining it, thus creating an object with a new purpose.
Moreover, this process highlights the piece’s organic distinctiveness hitherto characterised as flawed. “This concept is a tribute to the materials and the infinite qualities of the human being who interacts with them.”
