Part of Pietro Franceschini’s world, the Cha Cha Cha Stool 2 translates the Florence- and New York-based architect’s belief in “neotenic design” — forms reduced to their most essential, almost primal geometry — into an object built through Italy’s most storied ateliers, sourcing marble from Carrara, metalwork from Florence and upholstery from Milan.
This second Cha Cha Cha stool continues the set in Nero Marquina marble with a matte finish, a glossy version also available. Crafted in Carrara, it follows the same process as its companions — roughly eighty percent robot-sculpted, then completed entirely by an artisan’s hand — so the trio reads as variations on one sculptural silhouette in deep black stone.
Pietro Franceschini is an architect and designer based in New York and Florence, with an international curriculum, attending schools in Italy, Portugal, and the United States. Following his B.Arch cum laude from Università degli Studi in Florence and his M.S.Arch with 1st class honour from Pratt Institute, he started collaborating with several renowned firms, including Leeser Architecture in Brooklyn, Claudio Nardi in Florence, Laisné Roussel in Paris, and Carlo Ratti Associati in New York.
